Engineering Manager I - Mass Properties

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; office or hybrid setting required. Travel up to 10% may be required. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Salary: $143,487.14–$197,294.82 per year, plus performance-based annual incentive pay.

What you will do

• Supervise and coordinate a team of engineers to meet project goals and timelines.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, expenses, schedules, bids, and estimates.
• Oversee engineering design, documentation, approvals, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical direction, mentorship, training coordination, and performance support for engineers.
• Represent the engineering department in management meetings and present project updates and technical data to stakeholders.
• Identify and implement process improvements while managing resources and project risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related Engineering; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• 6+ years of engineering experience.
• Proficiency with project management software and tools.
• Experience with engineering principles, Computer Aided Engineering tools, analysis, and simulation.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary design and development teams and collaboratively lead engineers.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with aircraft weighing, AWBS software, TO-50 qualifications, mass properties engineering, part weight and center-of-gravity estimation, and database development.
• Experience with aircraft weight management, weight allocation, and risk and opportunity identification.
• Master’s degree in Engineering or an MBA.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, aerospace and defense, the U.S. Department of Defense, or the U.S. Military.
• Previous engineering management, recruiting, resource coordination, rapid prototyping, and capability fielding experience.
