Senior Process Development Engineer (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Livermore, California, United States; regular day shift; onsite role.

Salary: $90,500–$118,755 per year, depending on experience, skills, and background.

What you will do

• Develop, evaluate, optimize, and scale manufacturing processes, materials, and technologies from R&D and pilot phases into production.
• Design and analyze experiments using Design of Experiments, statistical analysis, process capability studies, and Statistical Process Control.
• Support new product introduction, product and process qualification, pilot builds, validation testing, and manufacturing readiness.
• Transfer processes from R&D into manufacturing and create process flows, work instructions, specifications, training materials, and related documentation.
• Develop process modules and equipment integrations, including adhesive and epoxy dispensing applications, while collaborating with suppliers and equipment vendors.
• Improve yield, quality, throughput, reliability, and cost performance by troubleshooting issues and implementing corrective and preventive actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline, plus at least two years of related experience; an advanced degree without experience or equivalent work experience is also accepted.
• Experience in process development, manufacturing engineering, product development, or a related technical field.
• Experience with statistical analysis, Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control, and process capability tools.
• Hands-on experience developing and scaling manufacturing processes from R&D through production and transferring processes into manufacturing.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, cross-functional collaboration, and project management skills.
• Experience or knowledge in semiconductor, electronics, advanced materials, MEMS, precision manufacturing, adhesive or dispensing processes, qualification methodologies, PFMEA, risk assessment, and change control.

Nice to have

• Experience with specialized assembly, packaging, automation, equipment qualification, and supplier collaboration.
• Proficiency with JMP, Minitab, Python, Excel, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar engineering and data analysis tools.
