Senior Engineer I - Component (Semiconductor Components)

Location: Lawrence, Massachusetts, United States. The role involves 0–25% travel and requires eligibility under U.S. export-control regulations.

Annual base salary: $70,304–$205,000, plus restricted stock units, quarterly bonuses, health benefits, retirement savings plans, and an employee stock purchase plan.

What you will do

• Drive supplier performance across quality, delivery, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
• Build supplier relationships focused on continuous improvement, lead-time reduction, and risk mitigation.
• Lead supplier qualification, audits, and capability assessments for new and existing vendors.
• Verify mechanical, thermal, and material performance of supplied components and products.
• Review drawings, specifications, material requirements, and process requirements.
• Lead investigations and maintain qualification reports, specifications, and supplier documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in engineering, supplier quality, and manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of materials science and process–material interactions.
• Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship, permanent U.S. residency, or protected-individual status under U.S. export-control requirements.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or MBA with 3–5 years of experience.
• Experience in semiconductor, aerospace, or high-reliability manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of hermetic packaging, microelectronics assembly, and electroless or electrolytic plating.
• Knowledge of semiconductor standards, including MIL and IPC, and experience conducting supplier audits.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
