Senior Automation Process Quality Engineer (Automation)

Location: On-site five days per week in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico

What you will do

• Develop robust welding and assembly automation processes using Fanuc robots while meeting process capability, quality, cost, schedule, and safety requirements.
• Define machine specifications, approval protocols, runoff requirements, and installation plans for automation capital equipment.
• Design and select automation tools and fixtures, define inspection processes using GD&T principles, and improve automated production cells.
• Apply Six Sigma, DOE, A3, 9 Step Problem Solving, and 5-Why methods to identify root causes and resolve advanced process issues.
• Develop and maintain Control Plans, PFMEAs, JSAs, ergonomic studies, and EHS scorecard follow-up for machining and assembly processes.
• Track SQDIP indicators, manage capital equipment and tooling purchase orders, mentor the Automation team, and collaborate on VSA, RIE, and Gemba initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Mechatronic Engineering; a relevant master’s degree is preferred.
• At least five years of manufacturing, process, or quality engineering experience in automation.
• Project management and team management experience.
• Advanced PLC programming and automation tool selection and design skills.
• Mastery of Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Modbus, and Profibus communication networks.
• English proficiency at 90% required. Competence in Lean Manufacturing, material flow, DMAIC, GD&T, Minitab, TPM, and AutoCAD.
