TL;DR
Electrical Engineer (Submarine RF, Sensor & Hardware Systems) (RF/sensor hardware): Supporting the analysis, testing, troubleshooting, production, and sustainment of electrical and RF sensor systems for U.S. Navy submarines with an accent on microwave engineering, antennas, cable assemblies, and hardware performance evaluation. Focus on analyzing RF data, diagnosing production and fielded hardware, designing military-specification cable assemblies, and performing laboratory, shipyard, and waterfront testing.

Location: Middletown, Rhode Island, United States; must be local to the work location. Flexible for occasional telework.

Salary: $55,998.60–$97,370.70 per year

What you will do

  • Analyze electrical and RF performance data for sensor components, subassemblies, and integrated assemblies.
  • Evaluate incoming components and vendor test data, identify non-conformances, and recommend acceptance, rejection, or corrective action.
  • Support production teams with assembly issues, troubleshooting, repairs, and technical recommendations.
  • Perform laboratory, shipyard, waterfront, bench-level, and platform testing of sensor products.
  • Use RF and electronic test equipment, including network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, noise figure meters, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
  • Maintain technical data products, review electrical/RF specifications and drawings, design cable assemblies, and communicate findings to engineering, production, and customer stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • 0–3 years of experience, with working knowledge of RF/microwave engineering and network analysis.
  • Experience with electrical test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to analyze technical data, follow procedures, manage priorities, and communicate technical information clearly.
  • Active U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance required.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% and work locally in Middletown, Rhode Island.

Nice to have

  • Experience with U.S. Navy submarine systems, submarine sensors, or undersea warfare technology.
  • Experience with FieldFox, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, noise figure meters, antennas, RF components, or sensor systems.
  • MATLAB or comparable engineering data-analysis experience.
  • Experience with hardware production, repair, shipyard or waterfront testing, and RF, fiber-optic, or copper cable assemblies built to military specifications.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
