TL;DR
RF Engineer (Radar/Electronic Warfare): Designing and evaluating RF subsystems, components, and architectures for national security and space defense programs with an accent on RF modeling, simulation, link budget analysis, and system performance. Focus on integrating and testing large-scale RF systems, analyzing test data, and solving complex reliability and maintainability challenges.

Location: On-site in Dulles, Virginia, United States. Minimal travel and standard working hours.

Salary: $248,100–$372,200 annually for the Virginia area.

What you will do

  • Design, analyze, and evaluate RF subsystems, components, and architectures against mission and program requirements.
  • Perform RF modeling, simulation, link budget analysis, and performance assessments.
  • Develop and review technical requirements, interface documentation, and engineering artifacts.
  • Support system integration, verification, validation, and formal testing in laboratory and operational environments.
  • Conduct technical trade studies and recommend improvements to system performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Analyze test data, resolve performance issues, and collaborate with government, contractor, and cross-functional engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience supporting RF systems engineering, development, testing, or analysis.
  • Experience with RF communications, radar, electronic warfare, SIGINT, or related technologies.
  • Proficiency with RF analysis tools such as MATLAB, ADS, CST, HFSS, or equivalent tools.
  • Knowledge of RF propagation, antenna theory, signal analysis, performance characterization, system integration, and formal testing.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, or national security programs.
  • Familiarity with digital signal processing, wireless communications, or satellite communications systems.
  • Experience with requirements analysis, systems engineering, MBSE, acquisition, sustainment, or large-scale RF system integration.
