RF Engineer (Space Technology)

Location: Onsite in San Diego, California, United States. Relocation assistance may be provided to qualified candidates.

Salary: $125,000–$195,000 USD annual base salary.

What you will do

• Derive and document RF subsystem requirements from system-level requirements.
• Design RF schematics and guide PCB layouts for complex assemblies.
• Validate designs, troubleshoot RF circuit boards, and test assemblies.
• Develop and perform RF test procedures and support system integration testing.
• Assist manufacturing activities and resolve PCBA integration issues.
• Support design reviews, customer meetings, proposals, and technical trade studies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a master’s degree with an RF emphasis.
• 5+ years of RF hardware and schematic design experience, preferably with Altium, from UHF to Ka-band.
• Experience designing LNAs and power amplifiers up to 10W at Ka/Ku-band.
• Experience with RF analysis, simulations, PCB layout, test equipment, and laboratory practices.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, support production activities, and work to accelerated schedules.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance and qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR requirements.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of space-environment design considerations, including EMI/EMC, radiation, temperature, shock, and vibration.
• Knowledge of Python, C/C++, MATLAB, scripting, and test automation.
• Experience with EDA tools such as Altium, AWR/MWO, Genesys, or ADS.
