Outside Auto Appraiser

Location: MA - West Bridgewater, United States. The role is based remotely with mobile work at residential and commercial locations and occasional work from the nearest hirify.global office.

Annual base salary: $63,800–$105,400.

What you will do

• Inspect damaged vehicles through virtual and on-site assessments at body shops and customer locations.
• Prepare and review repair estimates covering parts, labor, and materials using industry-standard estimating software.
• Evaluate total losses by determining actual cash value through market research, comparable vehicle analysis, and valuation tools.
• Negotiate repair costs and settlements with customers, body shops, and third-party claimants.
• Identify pre-existing damage, prior repairs, and potential fraud indicators while coordinating repairs and supplements with claim representatives and vendors.
• Explain the appraisal process, answer customer questions, and support timely claim resolution while adapting to AI-related technology and digital tools.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• At least one year of auto physical damage appraisal or comparable claims experience, or successful completion of the required hirify.global Claim Representative training program.
• Two years of auto physical damage appraisal experience is preferred.
• Valid driver's license and active adjuster license where applicable.
• Proficiency with claims management and estimating software, Microsoft Office, and enterprise technology systems.
• Strong communication, judgment, customer service, organization, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills, with basic knowledge of insurance principles and state claim regulations.
