Senior Production Planner (Manufacturing)

Location: Charter Dura-Bar, Woodstock, Illinois, United States; onsite

Salary: $82,000–$102,500 per year

What you will do

• Develop, execute, and monitor production schedules that balance customer delivery requirements, inventory levels, and manufacturing capacity.
• Produce and communicate capacity reports for commercial and plant management.
• Optimize inventory planning for billet, coil, and cut-to-length requirements.
• Identify supply constraints, delivery risks, and resolution plans, coordinating with schedulers and commercial teams.
• Partner with commercial, logistics, operations, finance, and accounting teams to resolve inventory and scheduling issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, cross-train in production planning functions, and respond to off-hour schedule change requests.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
• Seven or more years of related supply chain or operations experience.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working across plant operations, commercial, logistics, scheduling, and accounting functions.
• Ability to influence results without direct authority and manage multiple tasks or projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain management.
• APICS CPIM or CPSM certification.
• Experience with ERP planning and scheduling modules.
• Six Sigma or Lean training, report writing, and negotiating experience.
