TL;DR

Principal Bioinformatician (Bioinformatics): Lead computational analyses for translational strategies across drug development programs with an accent on integrating multi-modality clinical and biomarker datasets for mechanism-of-action understanding, patient stratification, and pharmacodynamic assessment. Focus on building reproducible, scalable bioinformatics pipelines and translating complex computational findings into biologically meaningful insights, including regulatory-ready biomarker documentation.

Location: Somerset, New Jersey, United States or Remotely

Salary: $146,410 - $192,164 USD (base pay)

Company

hirify.global is a global biotechnology company developing advanced cell therapies and immunotherapies for life-threatening diseases.

What you will do

  • Perform translational biomarker analysis integrating multi-modality and multi-omics assays (e.g., bulk/single-cell RNA-seq, TCR/BCR-seq, WGS/WES, ATAC-seq, ctDNA, proteomics, cytokine profiling, spatial/multiplex imaging, flow cytometry/CyTOF).
  • Support biomarker discovery and validation by identifying pharmacodynamic, predictive, prognostic, and response biomarkers and correlating them with clinical outcomes, PK/PD, and safety to support patient stratification and mechanism-of-action hypotheses.
  • Build and maintain reproducible, scalable bioinformatics pipelines using cloud and/or high-performance computing; contribute to translational data infrastructure and data governance with traceability and documentation compliance.
  • Partner with translational scientists, clinical development, Research and CMC teams, and external collaborators/CROs to translate computational findings into biologically meaningful insights.
  • Contribute to regulatory documentation for biomarker sections of INDs, IBs, clinical study reports, and regulatory briefing documents.

Requirements

  • PhD (5+ years) or MS (8+ years) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, Systems Biology, or related quantitative biological sciences.
  • Strong expertise in bioinformatics and statistics with biological training, plus translational research experience in oncology, immunology, or autoimmune disease (gene and cell therapy experience is a plus).
  • Strong programming skills in R and/or Python.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix computing environments.
  • Experience with workflow management systems (e.g., Snakemake, Nextflow, WDL) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure preferred).

Culture & Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Eight (8) weeks of paid parental leave after three (3) months of employment.
  • Paid time off including vacation, personal time, sick time, floating holidays, and eleven (11) company holidays.
  • Additional voluntary benefits such as flexible spending and health savings accounts, life and AD&D insurance, disability coverage, and supplemental insurance plans.
  • Benefits are offered exclusively to permanent full-time employees (contractors are not eligible).

Hiring process

  • Interviews to evaluate translational bioinformatics experience, pipeline development, and biomarker analysis work.
  • Assessment of technical depth in multi-omics integration, reproducible workflows, and cloud/HPC execution.
  • Discussion of collaboration approach and experience contributing to regulatory biomarker documentation.
