Senior Bioinformatics Engineer II (Python/Linux)

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; 70% in-office and 30% remote

Salary: $145,900–$234,200 per year, with potential bonus, incentive compensation, or equity.

What you will do

• Monitor bioinformatics pipelines and scientific software platforms for deviations, defects, and operational issues.
• Design, develop, and improve automated testing capabilities for continuous pipeline operation.
• Support computer system validation through qualification scripts, protocols, and validation documentation.
• Troubleshoot incidents, resolve bugs, provide on-call support, and minimize operational downtime.
• Improve error reporting, operational procedures, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with bioinformatics, software engineering, and multidisciplinary teams on system improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, plus 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python and Linux.
• Experience with a bioinformatics workflow framework such as Nextflow, Luigi, or Snakemake.
• Experience with Git, cloud platforms such as AWS, and containers such as Docker.
• Experience with Computer System Validation, GxP environments, and regulatory compliance.
• Only U.S. persons, including U.S. citizens, permanent residents, asylees, or refugees, are eligible due to U.S. export-control requirements; visa sponsorship is not available.

• Experience with bioinformatics software and neoantigen therapies.
