Automation Engineer V (Automation, Instrumentation and Controls)

What you will do

• Lead automation, instrumentation, and controls engineering through design, documentation, construction, and project administration phases.
• Coordinate proposal development, discipline planning, budgets, scheduling, and execution with Project Managers.
• Develop construction drawing packages, specifications, control system designs, P&IDs, panel fabrication drawings, and field wiring plans.
• Support construction through RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch lists, progress reports, site walks, and field surveys.
• Lead project programming, system design, master planning, quality checking, and cross-discipline coordination.
• Direct, mentor, and support discipline engineers and designers while participating in technical and leadership interviews.

Requirements

• ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience, preferably in a design firm setting.
• Expertise in engineering calculations, control system schematics, P&IDs, electrical codes, mechanical and building codes, and applicable industry standards.
• Advanced knowledge of cGMPs and experience with life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, food and nutrition, or consumer products projects.
• Advanced experience designing Safety Instrumented Systems and coordinating with construction trade partners, vendors, manufacturers, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Professional Engineer registration, ISA Certified Automation Professional certification, AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office, and discipline-specific software experience are preferred.
