Location: Denver, CO, US; on-site

Salary: $190,000–$215,000 per year plus bonus and restricted stock units

What you will do

  • Serve as Owner’s Engineer and lead end-to-end instrumentation and controls vendor oversight for complex, multi-system power generation programs.
  • Coordinate DCS, SCADA, power control system, PLC, and field instrumentation integration with electrical and mechanical engineering teams.
  • Oversee installation, Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing, commissioning, startup, and initial operational support.
  • Review vendor deliverables, resolve cross-vendor design conflicts, and direct technically sound solutions for non-conformances and design risks.
  • Establish and enforce fail-safe, redundancy, quality, engineering, construction, and commissioning standards.
  • Train operations staff and junior I&C engineers while developing documentation, procedures, and technical standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls/Automation Engineering, or a related field.
  • 20+ years of experience in control systems, electrical power management systems, controls engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Professional experience in a power systems or power generation environment, including Power Plant DCS or PLC-based control systems.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical systems, PLCs, and industrial control systems.
  • Experience working with equipment vendors and commissioning agents, influencing schedules, readiness criteria, and procurement decisions.
  • Current knowledge of applicable ISA standards, including ISA-5.1 and ISA-18.2, with strong communication and technical judgment.

Nice to have

  • Professional Engineer license or Certified Automation Professional certification.
  • Experience with SEL PowerMax, SEL RTAC, Ignition SCADA, Canary Historian, GE Mark VIE, Rockwell or Allen-Bradley PLCs, ComAp, ESM 2 Waukesha, or similar platforms.
