Sr Mechanical Engineer

Location: Plainfield, Illinois, United States; engineering office role with possible temporary assignments to project sites.

Salary: $105,795–$132,243 USD annually

What you will do

• Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products and project deliverables.
• Design and analyze complex equipment and systems, including pressure vessels, heat transfer equipment, rotating equipment, and piping.
• Develop testing processes, prototypes, and validation activities for new designs.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical drawings, layouts, specifications, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project managers, vendors, and contractors.
• Monitor project timelines and budgets while supporting engineering, fabrication, and construction outcomes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of company or industry experience and 5–10 years of discipline experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience designing mechanical systems and products, with a strong grasp of engineering concepts, advanced mathematics, and statistics.
• Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• EIT certification or progress toward an EIT and professional engineering license is preferred.
