TL;DR
Senior Maintenance Program Engineer (Nuclear): Building and governing scalable fleet maintenance programs for advanced nuclear facilities with an accent on preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, asset data, and technical traceability. Focus on standardizing maintenance strategies across facilities, improving equipment reliability, and translating program requirements into executable work through cross-functional leadership.

Location: Santa Clara, California, or remote within the United States. Remote employees must travel to the Santa Clara headquarters twice per quarter, and the first two weeks of onboarding are in person. Applicants must meet the definition of a U.S. person under applicable U.S. export control laws.

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 per year

What you will do

  • Own and implement fleet maintenance standards covering preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
  • Develop equipment maintenance strategies, technical bases, work requirements, frequencies, acceptance criteria, job plans, and procedures.
  • Establish asset hierarchies, naming conventions, classifications, and maintenance master-data requirements for computerized maintenance and enterprise asset management systems.
  • Build standardized work-management practices covering work identification, planning, scheduling, execution, testing, closeout, equipment history, and backlog management.
  • Lead implementation across hirify.global facilities, including asset-data development, maintenance-plan loading, job-plan validation, readiness reviews, and controlled site adaptations.
  • Monitor maintenance performance and equipment reliability, coordinating with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Training, site teams, and vendors to drive improvements.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in the nuclear industry.
  • Experience with maintenance scheduling, maintenance leadership, and preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Strong understanding of nuclear plant operations and interfaces among Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Training, and Supply Chain.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance or enterprise asset management systems, asset hierarchies, equipment history, and maintenance master data.
  • Strong technical writing, analytical, organizational, and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Must meet applicable U.S. person requirements for access to export-controlled information and be able to travel to Santa Clara for onboarding and recurring company needs.

Nice to have

  • Experience standardizing maintenance programs across multiple nuclear facilities or units.
  • Experience with equipment reliability, criticality analysis, failure-mode evaluation, corrective action, operating experience, and maintenance performance measures.
  • Experience with critical spares, equipment bills of material, component availability, obsolescence management, procedures, work packages, job plans, or training materials.
  • Familiarity with maintenance rule, quality assurance, or nuclear regulatory requirements.
  • Current or former NRC SRO license or certification.
