  • Prepare and verify steady-state and transient subchannel analyses, including margin evaluations and critical heat flux predictions.
  • Prepare and verify coupled thermal-hydraulics evaluations for LOCA, non-LOCA transients, and design-basis events.
  • Support method qualification through benchmark selection, acceptance criteria, experimental comparisons, legacy analysis comparisons, and software quality assurance documentation.
  • Develop engineering calculations, reports, studies, system descriptions, requirements, workflows, and licensing documentation.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, lead analysis tasks, and participate in regulatory interactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited four-year institution.
  • At least 5 years of directly relevant full-time engineering experience.
  • Experience with subchannel thermal-hydraulics, transient analysis, and related nuclear safety analysis.
  • Familiarity with PWR thermal-hydraulic principles and interfaces with core design, fuel design, neutronics, and transient analysis.
  • Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
  • Ability to travel nationally and locally and work in accordance with applicable nuclear quality assurance requirements, including 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience in neutronics or fuel performance.

Culture & Benefits

  • Remote work within the contiguous United States for eligible candidates.
  • Collaborative work across Nuclear Fuels, Engineering, Licensing, Operations, and Nuclear Methods.
