Logistics Operations Specialist (Automotive)

What you will do

• Coordinate inbound freight from domestic and international suppliers, carriers, logistics providers, customs brokers, and production teams.
• Manage expediting activities, shipment confirmations, ASNs, carrier tracking, dispatching, and service-failure resolution.
• Request, analyze, and award air, ocean, and truck freight quotes while resolving invoice and billing issues.
• Ensure accurate shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, labels, customs paperwork, and import/export records.
• Support warehouse operations, dock scheduling, space planning, inventory flow, and transportation management system data integrity.
• Track logistics KPIs, identify freight-cost savings, support forecasting and budgeting, and participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1–3 years of logistics or supply chain experience in automotive manufacturing; Tier 1 or Tier 2 experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel pivot tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
• Understanding of Incoterms 2020 and U.S. Customs and import/export regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.

Nice to have

• Experience with global logistics, ocean and air freight, customs brokerage, and Incoterms.
• Familiarity with ASN compliance requirements and automotive customer chargebacks.
