Manager, Assembly Receiving and Warehousing (Automotive)

Location: Blythewood, South Carolina, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and events. Occasional travel is required.

Annual base salary: $120,000–$160,000, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Build and manage the in-house logistics operations team responsible for parts receiving and warehousing for series production.
• Lead receiving and warehousing operations through frontline supervisors, overseeing approximately 200 hourly employees across three shifts and 20 specialists.
• Plan and implement logistics processes, structures, equipment, maintenance concepts, repair concepts, and emergency response concepts.
• Ensure operational safety, environmental considerations, inventory accuracy, and annual and permanent inventory control.
• Implement problem-solving processes, KPIs, and corrective actions to prevent production stoppages caused by logistics failures.
• Manage recruiting, qualification planning, personnel resources, departmental budgets, and reference data in VW Group systems.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience in logistics or a production environment within the automotive industry.
• 3+ years of management experience in an operational environment.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be accepted.
• Detailed knowledge and extensive experience with quality management systems and related processes, including ISO and VDA.
• Experience working with complex IT systems; SAP knowledge is desired.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, reporting, presentation, interpersonal, and project management skills.
