Inventory Specialist (Defense Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Receive, identify, document, track, and issue inbound and outbound inventory.
• Maintain alignment between physical stock, storage locations, and ERP records.
• Own cycle counting, physical audits, inventory reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution.
• Investigate root causes and implement corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy.
• Support production kitting and ensure the production floor receives materials required by the production plan.
• Optimize storage locations, material flow, documentation, and inventory-control processes.

Requirements

• High school or vocational school diploma.
• 3+ years of experience in material management, manufacturing operations, or a related field.
• Experience using ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyze and reconcile data; proficiency with Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication, hands-on execution, accountability, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance; access to classified or export-controlled information may require additional U.S. eligibility or authorization.

Nice to have

• Inventory experience in aerospace, defense, or high-tech manufacturing.
• Experience improving inventory-control or warehouse processes.
• Experience with structured cycle-count programs, audit readiness, production kitting, or material-flow optimization.
• Supply chain or operations certification, such as APICS.
