Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: New York City, New York; hybrid work from the Financial District office three days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

Salary: $312,000–$356,000 per year, plus equity incentives and benefits

What you will do

• Lead team-level technical strategy and execution across multi-quarter initiatives.
• Use AI to build, optimize, and maintain software systems.
• Raise the technical bar by mentoring and developing engineers across the organization.
• Collaborate across disciplines to understand the healthcare domain and iterate on projects.
• Protect user privacy and security through strong engineering practices.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience leading engineering teams and influencing technical strategy.
• Generalist mindset with the ability to learn new languages, frameworks, and techniques in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to build complex systems using AI coding agents, including Claude Code.
• Ability to learn quickly and mentor other engineers.
• Familiarity with data security and HIPAA compliance.
