Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: New York, NY; must be located in NYC and open to working in the office

Salary: $200,000–$275,000 USD annually, plus benefits, equity, and applicable bonus

What you will do

• Own major application areas and drive projects from conception through delivery.
• Build robust, scalable systems, including real-time collaboration on detailed maps and high-scale backend architectures for ingesting billions of data points.
• Lead technical decision-making and translate product requirements into reliable software components.
• Manage and develop a high-performing engineering team while providing mentorship and maintaining strong technical standards.
• Collaborate with design, product management, deployment teams, engineers, and users to solve complex operational problems.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience working with cross-functional software development teams.
• Professional or open-source experience shipping and iterating on production-grade software.
• Ability to write robust, well-tested, well-designed code that is regularly deployed to users.
• Strong understanding of architecting and scaling distributed software systems and navigating large codebases.
• Must be located in NYC and open to working in the office.
