Environmental Field Technician

Location: Canon City, Colorado, United States; on-site at a former mine site

Salary: $48,000–$57,000 per year

What you will do

• Collect groundwater, surface water, soil, vegetation, and air samples.
• Prepare samples for shipment and maintain accurate field documentation.
• Perform daily calibration checks and minor maintenance on sampling equipment.
• Inspect pumping systems and record totalizer readings.
• Lead general care and maintenance of pumps and other environmental systems.
• Maintain site cleanliness and safety, use appropriate personal protective equipment, and support related office tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, hands-on technical, and teamwork skills.
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Effective written and oral communication.
• Knowledge of maintaining and operating mechanical equipment or systems.

Nice to have

• Technical diploma or relevant work experience.
• Experience with environmental sampling, monitoring, or remediation activities.
