Environmental Field Specialist I

What you will do

• Coordinate customer-site waste management, logistics, pickups, transporters, and treatment, storage, and disposal facilities.
• Classify, sample, prepare, package, load, and ship hazardous and non-hazardous waste for recycling or disposal.
• Prepare and verify hazardous waste shipping paperwork, inventories, waste profiles, and related documentation.
• Conduct site inspections and audits while following customer-site, company, and safety requirements.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instruments and operate forklifts or other required equipment.
• Oversee subcontractor performance when required and coordinate with sales representatives, customers, transporters, and disposal facilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of RCRA, EPA, and DOT regulations for hazardous waste packing, transportation, and disposal.
• General college science background in chemistry, biology, environmental science, or comparable work experience.
• Microsoft Office, UVX, AS400, Access, and intermediate Excel skills.
• Ability to operate forklifts, use respiratory protection equipment, and maintain a good driving record.
• Current 40-hour Hazwoper certification; CDL, respiratory fit testing, Basic Plus training, and other certifications may be required depending on the assignment.
