Software Engineer (Simulation)

Location: Remote in the United States, based on Fayetteville, North Carolina, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility and onsite support when needed

Salary: $69,400–$158,000 annualized USD

What you will do

• Maintain and execute simulators and modeling capabilities used for rehearsals and exercises.
• Manage simulator networks, system architecture, Authority to Connect requirements, and lifecycle operations.
• Build CI/CD pipelines, compile and run source code, and create or improve development environments.
• Implement new features, integrate applications and simulations, and deploy software releases.
• Provide tier 1–3 troubleshooting, hardware installation, and operational support.
• Break down operational requirements into JIRA tasks and collaborate daily within an Agile Scrum team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with Java, C++, or C#.
• Experience with simulation systems and writing source code for new or existing applications.
• Knowledge of the Distributed Interactive Simulation networking protocol.
• TS/SCI clearance is required, with eligibility for access to classified information.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Ability to provide onsite support at Booz Allen or customer facilities when required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, JavaScript, SQL, virtualization, DevSecOps, JIRA, or Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of MVRsimulation’s Virtual Reality Scene Generator or BSI’s software MACE.
