Project Engineer I (Aerospace)

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; primarily office or hybrid work. Occasional travel to customer or field locations may be required. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

Estimated starting salary: $143,487.14–$197,294.82 per year, plus performance-based annual incentive pay.

What you will do

• Support planning, coordination, and execution of engineering activities for product development projects.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and status reports.
• Provide technical support to project teams and interface with customers and field-based personnel.
• Identify project risks, document them, and assist with mitigation planning.
• Maintain design specifications, test plans, meeting minutes, and other project documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, liaison, and production teams to resolve production engineering issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• 8+ years of engineering experience, or equivalent qualification through a higher-level degree.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and practices, requirements management, system design, and integration.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary design and development teams, with strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to provide technical oversight of multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Nice to have

• 2–4 years of relevant leadership or project management experience.
• Familiarity with MS Project, JIRA, project estimates, technical proposals, and cost and schedule management.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary development teams and communicating with program management and customers.
• Experience with baseline definition, trade studies, and analysis of alternatives in complex development environments.
• INCOSE certification or experience, and an aerospace or defense industry background.
