Engineering Project Manager - Software

Location: Bingen, Washington, United States; 80% onsite with limited remote work

Salary: $97,000–$155,000 per year

What you will do

• Own planning, execution, tracking, and delivery across active software engineering projects.
• Maintain integrated project plans in Smartsheet and connect GitLab engineering activity with JIRA corporate reporting.
• Coordinate resource allocation, work intake, prioritization, capacity planning, and competing project demands.
• Facilitate standups, sprint planning, backlog reviews, retrospectives, and milestone reviews.
• Identify risks, blockers, dependencies, and resource conflicts, driving corrective actions and escalations.
• Report project progress, milestones, risks, constraints, decisions, and recovery actions to leadership and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or another technical field.
• At least five years of project or program management experience, including substantial software development project management.
• Experience allocating resources and prioritizing work across multiple concurrent projects.
• Proficiency with structured planning and reporting tools such as Smartsheet and JIRA.
• Strong experience partnering with software engineering teams and communicating technical progress, risks, and schedule impacts.
• Must be a US Person under ITAR requirements and have current US work authorization.

Nice to have

• Previous experience as a software engineer or technical contributor.
• Direct experience with GitLab and distributed teams across time zones.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, robotics, or hardware-adjacent software environments.
• Experience with DO-178C or similar safety-critical software standards.
• PMP, Certified ScrumMaster, SAFe, or equivalent certification.
