Project Engineer I (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; primarily office or hybrid work with occasional travel to customer or field locations

What you will do

• Support planning, coordination, and execution of engineering activities for product development projects.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, design specifications, test plans, and meeting records.
• Provide technical support to project teams and communicate with external customers and field-based employees.
• Prepare project status reports and identify risks, issues, and mitigation actions.
• Coordinate engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to support project milestones.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• 8+ years of engineering experience, knowledge of engineering principles, and experience in multidisciplinary design and development teams.
• Basic understanding of requirements management, system design, and integration.
• Experience with RF, radar, and/or electromagnetic warfare technologies or systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
• Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment, travel occasionally to customer or field locations, and work in potentially hazardous project-site environments.

Nice to have

• 2–4 years of relevant leadership or project management experience.
• Familiarity with MS Project, JIRA, project estimates, technical proposals, and program cost and schedule management.
• Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering experience and experience leading multidisciplinary development teams.
• Experience with baseline definition, trade studies, technical drawings, schematics, and test procedures.
• INCOSE certification or experience and an aerospace and defense industry background.
