Recycle Technician

Location: Livonia, Michigan, United States; on-site work

Salary: $15.50–$16.50 per hour

What you will do

• Collect, salvage, inspect, and sort reusable, recyclable, and waste materials.
• Maintain docks, collection areas, work areas, logs, and schedules.
• Work with multiple collection containers and complete repetitive physical tasks.
• Follow safety rules, procedures, and personal protective equipment requirements.
• Support the shift lead with punch-list items and communicate professionally with colleagues, supervisors, managers, and customers.
• Maintain a professional appearance and support customer satisfaction and environmental reporting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; 1–2 years of recycling experience in a company environment or equivalent training and experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift or move up to 35 pounds.
• Completion of all required safety and task training certifications.
• Valid driver’s license, forklift certification, and RCRA hazardous waste handling training may be required.

Nice to have

• CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
• Bilingual communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, compounds, and chemicals.
