Machine Operator III

What you will do

• Safely operate CNC routers, laser cutters, water jets, sheet metal brakes, Teflon presses, manual mills, manual lathes, forklifts, cranes, and other shop equipment.
• Produce prototype and production parts, modifications, and repairs for parts and assemblies.
• Use work orders, blueprints, sketches, and written or verbal instructions to determine machining processes, tooling, and fixture requirements.
• Plan and perform moderately complex and complex machine setups using trigonometry to calculate machining angles.
• Nest parts to improve material efficiency and reduce waste.
• Support manufacturing, engineering, and business-unit customers while coordinating work and providing guidance to junior team members.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience and specialized machine shop skills.
• Working knowledge of trigonometry for machining setups and angle calculations.
• Ability to use hand and power tools and operate heavy machinery, including forklifts and cranes.
• Ability to work onsite in Tempe, Arizona.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent walking, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and lifting in a noisy work environment.
