Manager, NH Distribution System and DER Planning (DER)

Location: Manchester, New Hampshire, United States; hybrid schedule

Annual salary: $164,170–$182,410, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

• Lead distribution system planning and DER planning across New Hampshire, including substations, station upgrades, DER system impact studies, and non-wires alternatives such as battery storage.
• Develop, document, and defend the integrated long-range system plan for capacity, reliability, resilience, and future load and DER growth.
• Manage the five-year plan for substation capacity and reliability projects and coordinate planning activities across departments and states.
• Develop system modeling, planning, and analysis processes and maintain distribution and DER planning guides.
• Manage and mentor engineers while coordinating projects with internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, regulators, and external organizations.
• Prepare regulatory filings, rate case materials, expert testimony, technical reports, and communications related to distribution and DER planning.

Requirements

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering required; MS degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred.
• At least 10 years of distribution planning experience in a utility environment or related business area.
• Management experience and experience with electric power systems, distribution planning, modeling, and system analysis.
• Knowledge of DER interconnection methodologies, DER technologies, simulation software, and steady-state and dynamic power distribution analysis.
• Understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory tariffs and provisions applicable to distribution and DER planning.
