NY Interconnections Engineer (All Levels) (Electrical Distribution)

Location: Office-based in Rochester, Kirkwood, Brewster, or Binghamton, New York, United States

Salary: $94,280–$150,000 base salary, dependent on experience and location.

What you will do

• Analyze complex distributed energy resource and new customer interconnections across multiple distribution voltage levels.
• Develop distribution-system power-flow models for generation and storage interconnection studies using CYME.
• Document findings and communicate recommendations through reports, presentations, and stakeholder discussions.
• Review planning and engineering work completed by peer engineers and consultants.
• Guide team members on distribution-planning analysis and develop subject-matter expertise.
• Represent the department on industry committees, support cross-functional engineering solutions, and assist with storm restoration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Advanced knowledge of electric distribution power systems and planning.
• Experience with distribution-planning standards, including IEEE, ANSI, and DER interconnection requirements.
• Knowledge of CYME, PSS/E, SYNERGY, ASPEN, GIS, SAP, and load-data systems.
• Knowledge of leading and mentoring engineering teams.
• Advanced degree and/or Professional Engineer license is desirable.
