Environmental Solutions Field Technician II (Hazmat)

Location: San Jose, California, USA; onsite field work with regular and after-hours emergency response.

Pay range: $25.45–$34.97 per hour, depending on locality.

What you will do

• Respond to customer spills and environmental emergencies during and outside regular business hours.
• Perform tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, hazardous-material decontamination, sweeping, shoveling, and high-pressure washing.
• Enter confined spaces such as manholes and carry out related remedial activities.
• Operate roll-off and vacuum trucks, box trucks, skid steers, forklifts, pumps, pallet jacks, and other cleanup equipment.
• Maintain equipment and work sites, complete DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and maintain vehicle logs.
• Follow all safety policies and regulations while handling hazardous and non-hazardous materials.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of relevant work experience in equipment operation, hazardous-material response, or cleanup.
• Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training upon hire.
• Ability to move objects weighing up to 50 lb and work with light and heavy equipment.
• Ability to read technical, operational, safety, and quality documents, including safety data sheets.
• Work is based in San Jose, California, USA and involves onsite field operations.
• A valid driver's license may be required; a Class C license with Hazmat endorsement, confined-space certification, and equipment-operation certificates are preferred or may be required depending on the location.
