Onsite Environmental Technician II

Location: San Jose, CA, USA; onsite work at client facilities

Pay range: $29.45–$40.47 per hour, depending on the hiring locality.

What you will do

• Collect, package, label, and prepare hazardous and non-hazardous waste for transport.
• Perform chemical bulking and consolidation, inspect drums, and verify container integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Safely load and unload waste-hauling vehicles and operate site equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Conduct waste-stream sampling and profiling and participate in site-specific spill response activities.
• Maintain records, logs, data, and reports for regulatory bodies and internal use.
• Lead field data collection, manage complex assignments, and guide or train junior technicians.

Requirements

• 4–7 years of relevant work experience.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification or the ability to obtain it upon hire.
• Technical, communication, leadership, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to use heavy and light equipment, hand tools, shop tools, and instruments.
• Ability to wear PPE, walk on roofs, climb ladders, and lift up to 60 pounds.
• A valid driver’s license may be required for some positions.
