Coordinating Editor (Politics, MS NOW Digital)

Location: Washington, D.C.; onsite, Wednesday through Sunday from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m., with schedule adjustments during breaking news

Salary: $115,000–$130,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead timely breaking political news coverage during nights and weekends.
• Identify important storylines, develop scoops, and support MS NOW Digital’s 2028 presidential campaign coverage.
• Coordinate with the Washington bureau, breaking news teams, political teams, and platform producers.
• Help lead live blogs on primary nights and coordinate election-results coverage.
• Edit and occasionally write breaking news and enterprise articles across digital platforms.
• Support homepage updates, headlines, push alerts, newsletters, and reader engagement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• 8+ years of newsroom experience and 8+ years in a strictly digital newsroom.
• Experience with breaking news and political news.
• Excellent writing, editing, news judgment, and knowledge of journalistic standards.
• Must be willing to work in Washington, D.C.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization in the United States.
