Managing Editor, The Strategist

Salary: $125,000–$135,000 USD per year

Vox Media is a digital media company producing editorial content, platforms, products, and services.

What you will do

• Oversee daily publishing operations, editorial calendars, quarterly content plans, and major ecommerce tentpole events.
• Manage 2–3 direct reports and an Updates Coordinator responsible for deals coverage.
• Edit the daily Deal Freaks newsletter, update the homepage, and build articles in the CMS.
• Create and refine editorial workflows using Airtable and other project management tools.
• Manage freelancer and vendor contracts, onboarding, budgets, payments, and monthly production tracking.
• Coordinate with ecommerce, sales, visual, and product teams on content priorities, advertising deals, and site features.

Requirements

• Deep experience running operations, preferably in print magazine or digital media.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational systems.
• Experience with audience and platform management.
• People management and strong project management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and complete projects independently.
• Strong understanding of The Strategist’s editorial priorities and sensibility.
