Salary: $16.00–$17.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.

hirify.global operates WETM 18 News and its sister station WIVT, providing local television, digital, streaming, and social news content.

What you will do

• Develop and lead content strategies for station websites, apps, social platforms, and streaming services.
• Write, edit, and publish accurate news stories, headlines, newsletters, and digital updates.
• Research stories, conduct interviews, gather information at local events, and pitch local and trending coverage.
• Monitor social conversations, manage station accounts, and create content that grows audience engagement and brand recognition.
• Analyze audience metrics and Google Trends data to update messaging, website organization, and content strategy.
• Create, upload, schedule, and livestream breaking news content from the digital news studio using OBS.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism.
• Professional experience with news websites and live web samples.
• Strong writing, editing, grammar, punctuation, and AP Style skills.
• Expert understanding of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.
• Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop; experience with Adobe Express, Canva, or other graphics software is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively, respond positively to feedback, and maintain accuracy in a fast-changing news environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Adobe Analytics and Google Trends.
• Familiarity with OBS.
• Ability to shoot and edit content for digital platforms.
