Core AI Platform Architect (AI) - Vice President

Location: New York, New York, United States; hybrid schedule with office attendance Monday–Thursday and remote work available on Friday.

Base salary: $170,000–$210,000 per year, plus equity and an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the architecture and delivery of production-grade AI systems, including document intelligence, knowledge systems, agentic orchestration, conversational AI, and generative AI applications.
• Own AI projects from problem scoping and stakeholder alignment through design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Define technical architecture, API design, system decomposition, infrastructure patterns, and AI evaluation strategies.
• Build evaluation frameworks with problem-specific metrics, benchmark datasets, versioning, and reproducible results.
• Partner with Product, Operations, Legal, and Business stakeholders to identify opportunities and communicate technical tradeoffs.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code and design reviews, and improve tooling, infrastructure, and development velocity.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience developing and deploying production AI/ML systems, including cloud-native solutions on AWS or similar platforms.
• Strong Python and software engineering skills, including source control, CI/CD, testing, documentation, and scalable software development.
• Hands-on experience with LLM applications, AI agents, retrieval-augmented generation, conversational AI, document intelligence, agentic workflows, MCP, and A2A.
• Experience designing and operating end-to-end machine learning pipelines covering training, deployment, monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
• Strong foundation in statistics, experimentation, data quality, benchmarking, performance metrics, error analysis, and optimization for accuracy, reliability, scalability, cost, and latency.
• Experience leading architecture decisions, mentoring engineers, communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and working across multiple AI domains.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services or FinTech, especially in document-heavy, regulated, or compliance-sensitive environments.
• Open-source contributions, technical publications, conference presentations, patents, or other applied AI thought leadership.
