Sr Principal Test Engineer (ATE)

Location: Irvine, California, United States

Base pay: $162,000–$239,760 per year, plus eligibility for bonus and equity plans.

What you will do

• Develop optimized characterization, production, and wafer-sort test programs for custom ASICs, network switches, and server and network processors.
• Work with Advantest 93K and Teradyne tester platforms and design tester hardware for high-speed testing.
• Create detailed test plans and methodologies aligned with product specifications.
• Participate in testability reviews with DFT and DFM teams to improve yield and test methodologies.
• Convert test patterns from design simulation environments into ATE formats.
• Lead test-flow optimization, test-time reduction, insertion removal, yield improvement, and production test-program release with product engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 15–20 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 10–15 years of relevant experience.
• At least 10 years of test-program development experience on the Advantest 93K or Teradyne Uflex/UflexPlus ATE platforms.
• Demonstrable experience with ATE testing, test methodology, silicon processes, DFT/DFM, and high-speed digital testing.
• At least 10 years of experience with C/C++, Java, Perl, Python, and Linux.
• Effective communication, collaboration, teamwork, problem-solving, multitasking, and accountability skills.
• Eligibility to access export-controlled technology may be required; an export license review may apply to some applicants.
