Software Developer (AI/.NET)

Location: Remote - Texas; candidates local to the Allen, TX or Fort Collins, CO offices are also welcome.

Salary: $70,000–$80,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, enhance, troubleshoot, maintain, and modernize the Realware/Collectware enterprise software platform.
• Build and support applications and services using VB.NET, C#, .NET, WinForms, WPF/XAML, ASP.NET Core APIs, and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Develop database schemas, queries, stored procedures, APIs, integrations, and application components for secure, scalable business solutions.
• Use AI-assisted development tools and prompt-driven workflows for requirements analysis, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, refactoring, code reviews, and issue investigation.
• Design and improve agentic workflows, AI agent instructions, context files, skills, and development standards.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, product owners, and support teams to resolve technical issues and improve performance, reliability, maintainability, and security.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, artificial intelligence, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language, such as VB.NET, C#, Java, or a similar language.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming, software design, data structures, algorithms, debugging, testing, and development best practices.
• Knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools, prompt engineering, AI agents, or related technologies, including evaluating and refining AI-generated solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, adaptability, and continuous-learning skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with VB.NET, C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, WinForms, WPF, or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with AI coding agents, agentic development workflows, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Augment Code, Cursor, or similar tools.
• Experience creating AI agent instructions, context files, knowledge artifacts, development standards, or multi-step software lifecycle workflows.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, pull requests, branching strategies, CI/CD, Agile, Scrum, or DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with property appraisal, assessment administration, property tax collection, government technology, public-sector domains, or complex legacy enterprise applications.
