Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Onsite at 1375 Crossman Ave, Sunnyvale, California, United States

Salary: $143,000–$286,000 per year, plus performance-based bonuses and potential stock compensation.

What you will do

• Deliver platform capabilities, infrastructure, tooling, and machine learning frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones.
• Lead coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and other full software development lifecycle activities.
• Build scalable and resilient cloud-native systems using microservices, containers, automation, and AI/ML components.
• Conduct system design reviews and develop maintainable APIs, prototypes, and modular software solutions.
• Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering best practices and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements, success metrics, and data-driven improvements.

Requirements

• 4 years of software engineering experience with a relevant bachelor’s degree, or 6 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java and experience with Apache Spark and Apache Kafka.
• Expertise in cloud-native architecture, microservices, containers, automation, and scalable platform design.
• Experience with CI/CD deployment, observability, DevOps practices, API design, and software design patterns.
• Ability to lead technical reviews, mentor engineers, influence decisions, and define engineering metrics.
• Ability to work onsite in Sunnyvale, California, United States.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
