Technician (Heavy Equipment)

Location: Spotsylvania County and Lorton, Virginia; work takes place in maintenance shops and at jobsites. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Base pay: $20.00–$35.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Diagnose failures and report equipment issues to the Fleet Manager.
• Repair, maintain, test, and operate vehicles and heavy equipment to confirm safe working condition.
• Inspect fleet check-ins and check-outs and correct deficiencies before equipment returns to service.
• Order, procure, and track parts required for repairs and maintenance.
• Maintain repair records, daily logs, safety and inspection reports, and project reports.
• Support projects with manual labor and maintain positive working relationships with customers and coworkers.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience as a technician working with heavy equipment, cranes, or diesel trucks.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record without major traffic violations, tickets, or accidents during the past five years.
• Own tools adequate to perform all job functions.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug screening.
• Willingness to work from 6:00 AM, with overtime, nights, and weekends when required.
• Current authorization to work full time in the United States is required.
