What you will do

• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment, compact equipment, light service equipment, and trucks.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel and gasoline vehicles, including compactors, excavators, and wheel loaders.
• Service engines, transmissions, chassis, drivelines, hydraulic systems, brakes, electrical systems, suspension, wheels, tires, and undercarriages.
• Interpret equipment condition reports and repair orders, communicate with supervisors and operators, and discuss preventive techniques.
• Complete repair documentation, parts usage records, time records, and daily fuel and oil consumption reports.
• Analyze oil samples, onboard computer data, and fleet management software information; perform gas and diesel engine overhauls.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience in a technician position working on heavy equipment.
• Advanced knowledge of air brakes, tires, hydraulics, electrical systems, drivetrains, suspension, steering, and wheel-end components.
• Mechanical trade school certificate or degree and a certificate in electrical diagnostics.
• Applicable ASE certifications and working knowledge of Tier 4 emission systems.
• At least one year of experience applying OSHA HazCom, Lockout/Tagout, and Fire Protection regulations.
• Welding, fabrication, and engine repair experience.
