Summer 2027 MLS Underwriting Intern (Insurance)

Location: New York, New York — 1 Battery Park Plaza

Salary: $23–$50 per hour

What you will do

• Learn how underwriters evaluate risks and build customer relationships.
• Support company projects and gain hands-on exposure to management liability underwriting.
• Work through underwriting case studies independently and with mentors.
• Learn about unique accounts and the cyber team’s day-to-day work.
• Develop practical experience during a 12-week summer internship.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in marketing, risk management, finance, economics, accounting, insurance, or a related field.
• Completion of junior year is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Problem-solving, analytical, judgment, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment.
• Student activities or prior work experience, negotiation skills, curiosity, time management, and service orientation.

Nice to have

• Exposure to insurance or finance concepts through coursework.
• High academic or internship performance that may lead to a full-time opportunity after graduation.
