Maintenance Shop Technician B (Diesel Equipment)

Location: Jerome, Idaho, USA; onsite fleet and road-service work

What you will do

• Repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel trucks, refuse bodies, chassis, and related fleet equipment.
• Service hydraulic, electrical, air-brake, suspension, drivetrain, steering, HVAC, and light engine systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, tire work, welding, and fabrication.
• Diagnose malfunctions using electronic tools and perform applicable repair work.
• Provide road service when needed to return company equipment to safe and efficient operation.
• Complete company training and other related maintenance duties.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of technician experience diagnosing and repairing gasoline- and diesel-powered equipment, or graduation from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next 3 months.
• Experience or knowledge working on Classes 1–5 light/medium-duty and Class 7–8 heavy-duty trucks, aircraft, or ships.
• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and perform basic inspections with limited supervision.
• Working knowledge of suspension, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, and diesel-emissions systems.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• ASE T1–T8 certifications and a commercial driver’s license are advantageous but not required.
