Lighting Technician

Location: Multiple locations across North Carolina, including Asheville, Burnsville, and surrounding areas

Salary: $22.00–$35.00 per hour

What you will do

• Install, service, and repair indoor and outdoor electrical lighting systems.
• Interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical documents.
• Inspect and maintain lighting equipment, circuits, controls, and fixtures.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs while following electrical codes and company safety procedures.
• Operate tools, testing equipment, aerial lifts, and ladders safely.
• Coordinate with supervisors and project managers, maintain service records, and participate in safety training and hazard analyses.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least two years of experience as a lighting technician, electrician, or electrical maintenance professional.
• Knowledge of lighting systems, electrical codes, equipment, and national and local electrical standards.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and schematics and troubleshoot electrical systems.
• Ability to work safely at heights and in indoor and outdoor environments.
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and physical ability to handle tools.

Nice to have

• Apprenticeship or technical training in electrical or lighting systems.
• Experience with LED lighting, energy-efficient solutions, or advanced lighting controls.
• Journeyman Electrician or Lighting Technician certification.
• OSHA, aerial lift, or similar safety certifications.
