Building Maint Tech-A (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing)

Location: Niles, Michigan, United States; on-site work indoors and outdoors in all weather, with overnight travel and weekend, evening, and emergency callout work as required.

Compensation: $30.53–$38.16 per hour

What you will do

• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and operation of HVAC equipment, emergency generators, and building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Complete general building repairs involving drywall, masonry, painting, ceilings, roofing, tile, carpets, windows, furniture, doors, and other facilities equipment.
• Monitor and support contractors and other personnel while ensuring compliance with contracts, safety, security, environmental, and conduct requirements.
• Perform housekeeping, snow removal, storm damage cleanup, lawn maintenance, spill cleanup, and inventory management.
• Procure parts and materials, maintain inspection records, and submit required reports.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of experience as a Building Maintenance Technician B or three years of equivalent HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry experience.
• Valid state driver's license and successful completion of the Construction and Skilled Trades test (CAST) are required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, specifications, and instructions.
• Strong verbal, written, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, plus computer proficiency.
• Ability to perform medium physical work, including moving 20–50 pounds occasionally and working in all weather conditions.

Nice to have

• Electrician or HVAC license, or CFC refrigerant certification.
• Willingness to pursue required certification.
