Weld Quality Inspector

Location: Murfreesboro, Tennessee, United States; onsite

Salary: Minimum starting rate of $21.32 per hour, based on experience and education.

What you will do

• Inspect parts and assemblies throughout the manufacturing process to verify compliance with engineering and quality specifications.
• Interpret assembly, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and GD&T drawings and schematics.
• Perform weld inspections using weld gauges, liquid penetrant, and magnetic particle methods.
• Use measuring and paint inspection tools to verify dimensions, surface finish, coating thickness, and paint quality.
• Verify functional testing, standard work, tool calibration, and QMS compliance.
• Document nonconformances, gather quality data, perform basic root cause analysis, and communicate updates to production, engineering, and management.

Requirements

• At least six months of applicable experience or an evaluated equivalent.
• Ability to read blueprints, welding symbols, and GD&T tolerancing.
• Ability to use inspection tools such as calipers, measuring tapes, thread gauges, go/no-go gauges, and check gauges.
• Understanding of welding inspection and AWT.
• Ability to use department systems including MDS, QMS, and JDE.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is preferred.
