Mobile Team Tech Lead (Android)

Location: On-site in New York City, five days per week in the WTC area

What you will do

• Own the technical direction and delivery of client engagements as a hands-on project leader.
• Design, implement, test, and deliver Android and iOS applications for consumer banking experiences.
• Lead development of greenfield mobile capabilities for customer onboarding, account management, and money movement.
• Guide architecture decisions, engineering practices, technology adoption, and CI/CD improvements.
• Collaborate with clients, designers, product partners, and leadership to deliver technically sound solutions.
• Develop engineers' autonomy and effectiveness while proactively managing delivery risks.

Requirements

• 10–12+ years of experience designing and building complex commercial-grade software systems.
• 4+ years of experience leading Agile teams.
• Strong Kotlin and native Android development experience, including Jetpack Compose.
• Experience in consumer banking, especially account management and onboarding.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, third-party libraries, mobile UI/UX principles, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication skills for influencing technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and native iOS development experience.
• Experience with fraud management, KYC, AML, regulatory reporting, or on-device biometric authentication.
• Released applications on the Google Play Store and experience with enterprise app distribution or AppConfig standards.
• Computer Science degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Claude Code, or Copilot.
