Systems Test Engineer (RF/Microwave)

Location: Tempe, Arizona, United States; specific work locations may also include San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area. US citizenship is required.

Salary: $120,500–$190,000 annually; $149,500–$224,500 annually for specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area.

What you will do

• Interpret test requirements and develop test plans for RF and digital modules.
• Design test station hardware, select equipment, create bills of materials, and perform calibration.
• Develop test software and documentation using suitable programming languages and equipment-control interfaces.
• Test, debug, and troubleshoot custom RF hardware and flight hardware.
• Analyze test results and write test and calibration procedures.
• Collaborate with RF design, digital engineering, manufacturing, and program management from requirements review through production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related program, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of test automation and test design experience.
• Experience leading a test development effort.
• Programming proficiency in one or more of Python, C#, Java, and LabVIEW.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• US citizenship required; up to 10% travel.

Nice to have

• Experience designing and automating RF test systems.
• Understanding of RF amplifiers, mixers, oscillators, and transceivers.
• Experience controlling test equipment through SCPI commands.
• Object-oriented programming experience.
• Experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, noise figure meters, and signal generators.
