What you will do

• Guide quantum chip designs from operational requirements through layout and final tape-out.
• Lay out complex multi-layer chips, including metal-track routing and interfaces with photonics and CMOS.
• Translate scientist requirements into chip specifications and design features.
• Coordinate with scientists, fabrication engineers, and other teams to ensure feasibility and compatibility.
• Independently lead projects and own delivery of final chip designs.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience translating design requirements into chip features and performing chip layout.
• Experience guiding designs through the full process from requirements to layout and tape-out.
• Experience with complex multi-layer chips, metal-track routing, and photonics or CMOS interfaces.
• Ability to collaborate across technical teams, solve design problems, and take responsibility for delivery.
• U.S. person status, an applicable export-control license, or a confirmed license exception may be required for access to export-controlled technology and certain government-contract work.

Nice to have

• Scripted layout generation with GDSFactory in Python or a similar tool.
• Experience using Cadence for IC layout.
• Experience in ion-trap design, photonics design, or IC packaging.
